Putting the fun into fundraising
5 December 2018
Are you looking to organise a charity fundraising event in Glasgow? It can sometimes be a challenge to think of an event which will be suitable for a range of people whilst raising the most money for your chosen charity.
Charity events can be a good way for people to get together and enjoy an entertaining event whilst raising money for a great cause. Here are some suggestions:
Quiz night – Encourage teams to pit their wits. You could have a theme e.g. geography, food, music, or just general knowledge. Maybe even offer spot prizes on the night.
Themed event – You could pick a theme and decorate an event room to match, whether it’s an era e.g. 60’s or 70’s, a country or films. Food can match your theme, and people can even dress up to get into the spirit of the event. You could even have a quiz, live music, or disco based on your theme.
A race night – A great way to have fun with a group of friends. Bet with ‘fun’ money and see who can win!
Afternoon tea – If a daytime event is more suited, what about afternoon tea? A lovely way for a group of friends to get together, catch up, and enjoy delicious food, whilst supporting a worthwhile cause.
Dinner and disco – A lively way to have fun. Enjoy a tasty meal, followed by dancing to great sounds from a disco.
Black tie gala dinner – If you’re thinking of a more formal way to raise money, a black tie event can help. Guests can dress in style for the occasion. Dinner will be served, and the evening can be rounded off with a speaker or even a comedian.
Whatever event you choose, you could have an auction or raffle to raise additional funds for your chosen charity.
